South Lincs Area

The area was formed in 1974 in Spalding by an ex London member, Frank Hands. Although the first meeting was attended by only 8 people, word quickly spread and within 3 months had reached 29,

The intial sucess of the club was down to three peiple, Frank Hands, Bill Scott and George Parker and in 1990 a record number of 107 members was achieved. Unfortunately, over the next 3 years membership numbers dropped but good support of the annual Ladies’ Evening continued.

The annual Black Tie Ladies’ Evenings were held at Springfield’s Restaurant, Spalding util its closure to become a Garden Centre and retail outlet.
