It is with sadness that I announce the passing of the Bristol Area Treasurer, Haydn Hubbard on 10th August 2022.
How did Haydn come to join the TMC
In the 1980s and 1990s the Bristol Area organised Gentlemen’s Boxing Dinners in conjunctions with the National Smelting Company Amateur Boxing Club in Avonmouth.
At that time, Haydn ran the Medical Centre at the company and attended our Boxing Dinners. His role was not to care for the boxers, we had Doctors for them, he was there to support the TMC in the event of any medical emergencies occuring from the attendees, sober or otherwise.
At one such dinner, Haydn said he enjoyed our company and could he join us. Never to to miss an opportunity of a new member he was signed up. That was some 30 years ago.
He was elected Treasurer in 2010 and has been a very loyal member of Bristol Area, selling 40 plus desk diaries and the same number of pocket diaries for us each year to his connections outside of the ‘club’. Annual donations and sponsorship of Ladies’ Evening flowers have also been through him. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
It has been a privilege to have known Haydn during his time with the TMC.
Such a real gentlemen and friend, he will be sorely missed!
Our love goes out to dear Carwyn and family at this very sad time.
