History of Teesside Area

The area was formed in 1964 by a group of transport managers who had been travelling to Newcastle Area previously, thus saving time and expense.

Monthly meetings were held at the Billingham Arms Hotel for most of the  years after the areas formation.  These meetings usually included a guest speaker from the trade.

During the year, social events were held as well as the Black Tie Ladies’ Evenings and Christmas Parties, usually held at the Billingham Arms Hotel. Such was the success of these events that numbers from other areas lent their support.
