South Lincs Area Full History
History of the South Links Area (continued)
The area was formed in 1974 in Spalding by an ex London member, Frank Hands. Although the first meeting was attended by only 8 people, word quickly spread and by the early 1990s membership had reached over 100.
Monthly meetings, and an annual ‘Black Tie’ Ladies’ Evenings, were held at The Springfield’s Restaurant, Spalding until its closure to become a Garden Centre and shopping retail outlet.
Similar to other areas, membership number have fallen but the cuurent membership continueto meet on a monthly basis at Bicker Bar.
Our Ladies’ Evening also had to move and our new venue, the Southview Park Hotel, has met all our needs and more.
